| Computers For The Disabled |
We have been a Registered Charity for over 13 years and still the only Computer Charity that do what we do and the way we do it. We are unique as a Charity and for 10 long years we have managed to pay the bills and weekly running costs ourselves by using our own DLA, DSS and Mobility money, unlike many other charities where people are paid. Many times over the last 10 years our Chairman Paul Harris has used his own DLA money to pay CFTD bills so not to let the Charity go under. We have able bodied staff that do a full days work and then find time to help disabled people until the late hours of the night. That's dedication and the most impressive thing about it all is that no one involved with CFTD takes a penny in wages and at times put their own personal money in to pay bills as well. Find another Charity in the UK that does this and you will be searching forever. Yes, we have tried the Lottery commissions 3 times but they say we are not important enough to get a grant. |
