The Energy Challenge The Energy Challenge is a partnership between Energy Action Scotland and Community Service Volunteers (CSV) in Scotland and is funded by ExxonMobil. The Challenge aims to provide information and support to householders across Scotland to help them manage their fuel bills, save energy and keep warm in their homes. Members of the CSV's Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) have received energy awareness training from Energy Action Scotland, making them 'Energy Champions'. This leaflet is specially designed to help the volunteers provide information and advice on energy matters to people within the community.
Fuel Poverty We would all like to keep warm in our homes at a price we can afford. However, this is not always easy to do. Sometimes our homes are difficult to heat, are cold and draughty or damp, no matter how much we turn the heating up. Poor housing conditions can also affect our health. This problem is known as fuel poverty. A household is said to be in fuel poverty if it needs to spend 10% or more of its income on all fuel use, which includes keeping the indoor temperature between 18°C and 24°C (64°F - 75°F) for health and comfort. |

Published: Tuesday 09 Oct 2007 by Fife Council Revised charges for some home care services have been approved by the Council's social work and health committee. The revised charges will bring them into line with most other local authorities in Scotland. This will mean the Council will recover a larger proportion of the cost of service delivery from service users and introduce charges for some services which were previously provided free. This is in line with the Council's charging policy, agreed in December 2005, which adopts a consistent approach across all council services to the management of charges. |

I can’t remember the last time I had a cold and I can only say what I do. I take one 1000mg of effervescent vitamin C per day, I put it in water in the morning and that helps me take the rest of the tablets, I find Asda`s own make very palatable and reasonable priced one evening primrose 1000mg I don’t know if that’s a woman thing and one Echinacea that’s for the immune system. |

This was updated on the 11th of October 2006. Useful tips to use in your disability by Pauline Medd I'm going to be perfectly honest with you I have decided to write this because before I became as bad as I am I used to say to people how do you manage and I would get oh I take precautions (what does that mean), these are useful tips that I have found during my disability, not that anybody has told me about them they probably have happened through need, so I would like to share them I hope they will be useful to you.
