Introducing DotComUnity

DotComUnity has recently been launched in Scotland by the Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland (CCPS).    

What is DotComUnity?

• A one stop shop with information on local services and support available across the whole of the UK.  

• A tool for service users choosing support and planning options.  

• An online resource for self directed support, independent living and personalised support solutions.

• A website that highlights the quality of services rather than the price.

• A resource to enable disabled people, people with long term conditions, service users, professionals and service providers to access information on support and services in their local area.

• A directory with information on all areas of daily living from housing support services, to leisure and sports activities, to legal and financial advice services.

Search for Services by Local Area or by Subject
You can search for services by Postcode to within 5 miles of where the person lives.  You can also search by subject area in the Disability Directory and find out what’s available in your local community.  For information on care providers, housing support agencies, accessible art classes, computer courses, respite breaks, equipment and adaptations, financial, legal and benefit advice services, go to:   www.DotComUnity.co.uk

Provide Feedback and Rate Services
You can rate services, give them a star rating and provide comments and feedback about services.   If you’ve found a good support service or organisation in your local community, why not register, log in and provide some feedback.  

Post Events
You can advertise and promote events, groups, conferences, courses and clubs in your local area by logging into the callendar.

How to use DotComUnity:
1. Visit  www.DotComUnity.co.uk    Register as a member of MyDotComUnity and Log in.  
2. Check that the details of your organisation are correct.  If your organisation is not listed, then do let us know and we’ll add you to the directory.
3. Encourage your staff and service users to start using DotComUnity and to provide feedback on services.
4. DotComUnity is free to use and free to promote your services, so why not use the website to promote local groups, conferences, services and   
    events in your area.
