Robert`s Walk`s Video Page

My name is Robert A Hunter (I also do this website) I am 53 and I have MS. Up to lately I used my car to get to some of the walks but due to a problem with my Health my driving licence has been revoked at least until I have been given the all clear by the hospital.

Anyway, I have been using my scooter to get out and about with my dog Jasper. A lot of the walks are around Lochgelly where I live. I have a quite good mobile phone with a quite good camera so I started taking photo`s with it, then I thought what about taking video`s of the walks so I have started doing this.

At the start I was putting them onto YouTube (ROBBIE2MS), but on Youtube you are limited to 10 minutes and most of the videos can be longer than that. So I thought since I am the person that made this website and run it what about putting them onto this website so this is what I am doing.

There are video`s I have taken of the walk`s I have done around Lochgelly and video`s of some of the walks I have done around Kirkcaldy.

Almost all the walk`s can be over rough uneven ground at least in part and in some cases all of the walk. Also the video`s have the sound that came with the recordings of the walks so you may wish to turn of the sound.

Video of Dunnikier Woods Kirkcaldy Taken on 01-09-2010

This Video is just over 50 minutes long

The walk is around 3.1 miles long.

I used my Sony Ericsson Satio mobile phone to take the video.

I start this walk at it`s entrance (there is a small car park there) near the Kirkcaldy Crematorium, Rosemount Avenue. I followed the path to it`s top, a multi path junction. I took the path that is to the right then left. This path takes you up to near the A92 long side the Dunnikier Golf course. I followed the path around the golf course and back to where I park my car.

Video of Dronachy Road to The Beveridge Park Kirkcaldy 17-06-2010 walk

I took this video when I was doing a ramble. I have not done before and don`t have a name for the walk. The total video time 34 minutes, though the walk was a lot longer. The walk is around 5.086km long.

I used my Sony Ericsson Satio mobile phone to take the video.

The entrance to this walk starts just of Dronachy Road, Kirkcaldy. At the entrance to Dronachy Road there is a grassy area on the left hand side, there is a path into this area, go along the path to another path that goes to the right just a short distance along it, this is where I started and finished this walk.
Follow this path. The path will cross Boglily Road, once over the road continue along the path on the other side of this road to the right, follow this path. If you continue along this path it will eventually take you to the entrance to Windygate, the road into Kirkcaldy Golf course which will in turn continue onto Balwearie Road. A short distance along Balwearie Road there is a gate into the Beveridge Park, go in here. Follow the path to the left then left again up the hill into the woods. Follow this path to the end. Turn right which will take you into the Beveridge Park. Follow this path to the left. This will take you along the left/north side of the park. I turned into the right just past the children's play area to go along the east side of the boating pond then turned left through the arches into the rose garden then along to the left to the main gate to the park (though this is not the entrance to the car/bus parking area). You can either go back to the start point (that`s where I park my car) by going back the way you came or take the short cut by going back via Abbotshall Road into Forth Avenue into Oriel Road and back into Dronachy Road.

If you are interested in seeing some of the photo`s I have made up some calendars using the photo`s of this walk and other walks I have done. which can be viewed at http://www.fidn.co.uk/Adverts/Roberts... .

This is not a shop and I am not a professional, the calenders are not professional printed in bulk. I have a good quality home printer which prints off good quality photo`s which I use for the calendar`s.
I usually make calendars for Christmas presents and it was suggested that I maybe use some of the photo`s I take when I am out on my scooter and put them into calendars and try and sell them, so this is what I am trying.

I feel the cost of the calendar`s are quite high, but due to only having a home printer (and the ink can be expensive) and not printing in bulk (nor really wish to) and having to put everything together by hand which all takes time. I am hoping to make some money out of making the calendars but if the calendar don`t sell for what I am asking for then I will just not make them.

The calendar`s contains photo`s taken around Lochgelly, Fife where I live and Kirkcaldy which has a lot of nice walk`s.

My video of my Long Braes Plantation, Kirkcaldy walk 16-06-2010

The video is 11.49 minutes long.

The walk is about 1.85km long or 3.7km if you return the same way.

I used my Sony Ericsson Satio mobile phone to take the video.

I took the video when I was doing a ramble through the Long Braes Plantation, Kirkcaldy on my scooter with my dog Jasper on the 16th of June 2010. The walk starts near the junction of South end of Broom Road and Bennochy Road.

I new there was a path in the these woods but I had been to this entrance before and found there was quite a steep slope down from the entrance and though I might get down it I might not get back up it. At the time I had a 4 mph scooter, but know i have an 8 mph scooter so I thought I would try it, and I did (though getting back up the slope to the entrance possed a problem even for my 8 mph scooter, so I would not advise going back that way but going back via Oriel Road).

The walk it`s self was really worth it beside for the path being a little unven near the start the rest of the path was quite good. and the scenary was great.

The entrance to this walk is near the entrance to Rabbit Braes Community Park which is why I did this walk aswell. The video is 11.49 minutes long but this was edited so the walk may take long. The walk is about 1.85km long or 3.7km if you return the same way, you could alternatively you could go back to the start via Oriel Road which runs alongside the walk.

I did not start taking the video from the start of the walk but at the end, when I started heading back to my car. The reason for this was I was taking photo`s of the walk on the outward journey (alright I admit it, I just forgot).
