| We strive to include people with disabilities in decision making and working
towards inclusion of disabled people in all aspects of society in Fife. We find that by meeting together we can share common experiences, lose our feelings of isolation and gain confidence to speak out, which enables us to work with professionals on more equal terms and use our expertise. If you would like to know more about the Network, or find out what’s happening in your local area, why not give us a call. The Office Manager will be happy to assist you. Social Model of Disability A person is disabled by society. This model re-defines disability as a social construction. It is the social, economic, attitudinal and political barriers to disabled people's independence and inclusion which disables them. This view empowers disabled people because it recognises that their exclusion is caused by society not their individual impairments |
