Adaptive Equipment

Equipment is available from 1st April – 31st October weekdays, 1.00pm until 6.00pm and weekends 12.00 till 3.00pm.

HOW DO l B00K

• Please telephone the Outdoor Education Centre to check availability and to make a booking.

• AIIow sufficient time to register on your arrival (at least 15 minutes).

• Tell us in advance if you have never used a scooter before. As a first time user you will need to be given instruction in using the equipment. A competency test will be required and you will need to complete a Registration Form.

• Bring a passport-sized photograph so that we can provide you with an identity card.

CRITERIA FOR USE
To be able to use our equipment, you:

• MUST be 18 years and above

• MUST provide photo ID and a recent utility bill or a current Fifestyle Card.

• MUST only use the designated paths shown on the map provided.

• MUST sign to show you have read the safety information given

There is no charge for use of the Meadies Mobility Scooters or Powerchair.

Donations are invited and can be made at either the Park Centre or at the Outdoor Education Centre.

THE ACCESS DINGHY

Maximum 2 Adults

Access Dinghies were designed to appeal to people who would love to go sailing, but find it too difficult or uninviting to do so. Whether as a recreation, sport or a therapeutic activity, the Access Dinghy design features allow total novices, with no experience, the ability to sail with little or no tuition, nearly regardless of the weather conditions.

• Unsinkable and virtually uncapsizable

• Incredibly stable and responsive

• Joystick steering-simply steer left to go left, or steer right to go right

• Are made so anyone can sail them regardless of ability

• Lochore Meadows also caters for the disabled. We have a hoist to help lift those wheel chair bound in and out of the boats with ease

Lochore Meadows County Park / Outdoor Education Centre

Lochore Meadows is a great place for everyone, whether able bodied or with disability.  The Park has a network of accessible paths for use by mobility scooters, power chairs and adaptive bikes.  These can be hired the Outdoor Education Centre,  where there is also an access dinghy for use on the loch.

The following adaptive equipment is available for hire at Lochore Meadows:

There is a hoist on site capable of lifting users into duet bike or Access dingy.

Bikes can be hired out with these times by prior arrangement. Booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment and delay.

People hiring equipment need proof of identity.  You should also understand that you are responsible for loss or damage to equipment while on hire.  Users should be competent in the use of the equipment being hired.
